The documentation website has sometimes credited its creators of particular
pages in the "source code":

GIMP and Kate displays their translator in the about dialogue (when the
application loads localized translations). GIMP marks each translator with
their active years, usually just one or two persons for a certain period. It
also gives credit to the documentation's writers and artists contributed to the
project. I think is a nice touch.

Since the PO file doesn't record the translator for each string, translators
cannot be tracked automatically. I think we have to ask every language's head
of translation for the (roughly correct) name list.
