SUMMARY In VirtualBox running 20.4.3 has no issues. The same version on bare
metal has interface glitches shown here: https://thenextpoetician.blogspot.com/
The changes appeared after an update a week or so ago before replacing the
system battery. I had to downgrade the kernel to 5.7 series due to a VB
conflict,(since resolved by VB update). I have reinstalled, with no resolution
therefrom.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE

OBSERVED RESULT
As described above and specifically in the Summary, the interface is
inconsistent.
