Although I would rather work with KDE myself, I changed not only to Linux but also to XFCE since about 2 months. They can't do everything I want to do but 1. I don't have to start from scratch with every version and 2. I don't see any possibility to get the features I mentioned here in the foreseeable future. Therefore I have entered this feature in the bugzilla of XFCE.
