I have the same issue that alexmateescu mentions but it also appears to affect
konsole depending on which monitor it's on. You can also test on twitch or
vimeo videos. Full screen will "fade to black" or "become full screen with
only black for the video". The audio plays on.
I've also noticed that reducing the window of the application to not maximized
will usually allow the full screen video to play.
