Ahh OK my mistake I thought this was an Ark bug.
I've tested with Dolphin and can confirm the issue.
Perhaps Dolphin could detect the size of the extracted contents and if sane to
do so could extract them to /tmp/dolphin-nameofzip/ for temporary viewing.
