Bug ID: 432567 Summary: Bookmarks in Navigation View are a mess Product: okular Version: 1.10.1 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: larrywbrad...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I have a single pdf file open and turn on the Navigation view, the bookmarks list contains every pdf file I have ever bookmarked, not just the pdf I currently have open. Further, the bookmarks are indexed by file location, not just by the Title of the pdf file. Frankly, this renders the Navigation view practically useless, as far as bookmarks are concerned. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a pdf file. 2. Click on Settings, Show Navigation Panel. OBSERVED RESULT Every bookmark for every pdf file I have ever bookmarked is included in the navigation panel. Worse, because the bookmark name consists of the entire filepath, and nothing is chronological, it makes it difficult to find the bookmarks for the currently-open file. EXPECTED RESULT First, I expect to see the bookmarks only for the currently-open file. Second, I expect the bookmarks to be listed by file-name only, not by the file path. Third, as I have some long file paths often the title of the pdf cannot be seen, and I cannot necessarily remember the title based on the bookmarks alone. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I can see some value in having All bookmarked pdf's appear in the Navigation panel, but only if they are listed by pdf title only, not by the entire file path. Still, I would rather have the fixed state be one where only the bookmarks of the currently-open pdf appear in the Navigation panel, or, if you want to get "fancy," have an option for a) currently pdf only, or b) all pdf's. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
