SUMMARY
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install kdenlive (21.x) on Windows 10
2. Start kdenlive
3. kdenlive crashes
OBSERVED RESULT
kdenlive crashes on startup. The standalone version DOES start / run.
EXPECTED RESULT
kdenlive doesn't crash on startup

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I couldn't find any logfiles or any way to diagnose this issue. A pointer for
where to look would be appreciated, I would be more than happy to provide more
information, crashlogs, whatever.
I have tried to install the 21.x versions (21.04.01, 21.04.0 particularly)
several times, uninstalled, deleted directories, preferences etc. Every
instance I install crashes. The standalone version will start when run from an
extracted folder on my desktop.
