SUMMARY
As far as I'm aware, Android is unable to resize the "window".
It *may* be possible to invoke the hide/unhide behaviour when switching the
device to landscape view and back to portrait (if the resolution is high
enough), but I cannot manage that on my device (landscape view only shows 50/50
of room list and room timeline
