I have the same issue (file open dialog took 9-10 seconds to show up). After
reading this bug report and the comments I finally tried deleting `
~/.local/share/user-places.xbel` and that resolved the problem for me.
The original file had over 21,000 lines, the newly generated has only 198
lines.
The original file was over and over full with entries from kdeconnect (i have
only one paired device but there were hundreds of entries) and hundreds entries
about docker layers.
I guess this bug is related to
* #466416 KDE Connect keeps adding devices to Dolphin over and over and over
and over and over
* #451876 Dolphin slow start takes almost 5-6 seconds
* #398908 Dolphin uses up huge amounts of memory over time
