I believe adding two fingers swipe left and right to go back (Alt+left) and go
forward (Alt+right) respectively could really improve navigation with a
touchpad on laptop. Firefox has the same feature to navigate between visited
websites.
I don't know how really related it is but the same behavior could be used for
edge swipes on touchscreens, although probably changing virtual desktops could
be more useful.
