Hi,
this suggestion is also inspired by Gimp's take on that particular tool.
The lasso tool works as follows : when click-dragging, it works like a freehand
lasso, and when releasing, it starts a line section where the freehand part
left off - each subsequent click marks the end of a line, just like with the
polygonal lasso tool. It's faster and actually pretty intuitive to use.
