If that doesn't work, or if the functionality I describe does not exist in the app, then the practical options for fixing the bug are limited to downgrading to a previous version of the software or KDE frameworks where the bug was not seen, or fixing the problem yourself in the source code. I'm afraid I can't offer any more help than that, as I'm not familiar with KDE's older unmaintained apps.
