I don't know in detail, but qtbase/src/plugins/platforms/xcb/qxcbconnection_xi2.cpp operates on
xinpupt2 and compares "button labels" - no idea whether "xinput" can handle
that in some way.
Distance seems only be considered for touch events (thus the wheel emulation
button)
