Haven't tried most recent bits though.
For some - many, perhaps - it's a matter of getting the specfiles repository and meeting the requirements it has (CBE 1.7.0, possibly cmake 2.6.2) and running make. That will do the long long build. > I would like to get it running on 2008.11 ultimately, and trying to move > over to use OpenSolaris for development. It runs swimmingly on nv101 with full effects and everything, modulo the one showstopper KMail bug. I'm now updating the specfiles to KDE 4.1.3, but that means figuring out the bugs again. > I had started to get the build environment setup a couple times, and lack > of time ends it as I have others things going on...:-( By now, the existence of specfiles and a straightforward dependency tree should make it a lot easier. Unless you suffer from Schusteritis, which means that no build can possibly ever go right. > I have packages that Adrian packaged several months ago, but the > performance was pretty bad, so I reverted back to 3.4.3, but I haven't > been able to get 3.4.3 running on OpenSolaris, and think if KDE4 will run, > I'll just try to switch over to it...but I'd like pim if possible. I'd want someone to sit down to debug the performance issues; I know there was the kwin-eats-75%-CPU bug, which was later resolved.
