I've been grinding through them, but it's taking a while. Curse you Boost!
1st system - UltraSparc IIIi, ~snv_74 1) STDCXX doesn't properly deal with the compilers not being in /opt/SUNWspro, it does some header file mucking and moving based off of /opt/SUNWspro/prod/include and screws up for a non-default comiler. Check the Solaris directory for the offender. 2) Boost - The sparcv9 jam patch for linking does -L/opt/foss/lib -R/opt/foss/lib -lstdcxx . Since I had a 32 bit library for stdcxx that generates ELF errors several hours into the build. I ripped them out, I'll know in the morning if it worked. I'm not sure if I accidentally screwed up and installed the stdcxx lib by accident in my expirements with problem 1, it's hard to tell. 3) gperf is required for gettext. This was mentioned on an earlier email to the list. I had an older gperf in my path which didn't work, I'm not sure if that confused some tool, or it's just a missing dependency. 2nd system amd x86, SXDE 01/08 1) kerberos5ow has bad patch logic, presumably from --- I have checked in patches for the following two security advisories for MIT Kerberos 5 release 1.6.3: http://web.mit.edu/kerberos/advisories/MITKRB5-SA-2008-001.txt http://web.mit.edu/kerberos/advisories/MITKRB5-SA-2008-002.txt --Stefan --- It needs to be patch -p0, not -p1. General Question - The techbase talks about building kdesupport first, it looks like it has been removed from svn (or at least my checkouts aren't getting it). Just remove it from the makefiles? -- Dave
