Neither CSW-Gnome or CSW-kdegcc should break SUNWGnome or SUNWCDE. I've setup a SPARC machine with all of the desktop environments (CDE/JDS/CSW-GNOME/CSW-KDEgcc) working in unison through GDM with no issues. This tested back around Xmas 2006 - Feb 2007. No issues with firefox.
Check your PATH setup. Things can get weird if your setup is not correct. if you start firefox is console mode, you may see the error it is giving you. - Ken -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
