Hi,

from the discussion it appears that the intention is to provide a generic stable branch that isn't inherently specific to Kubtuntu, Kubuntu Focus, or Techpaladin. This matches the development for Plasma and Gear.

With this in mind I have no objections, and would suggest to use Frameworks/6.24 as branch name.

There's one question that needs figuring out though: Should the branch be enabled for translations? Technically that shouldn't be much of a problem, but it's worth discussing whether this is a good use of translators time and energy.

Cheers

Nico

To help move this forward, are there any formal objections to Techpaladin people (Marco, me, possibly others) creating stable branches for frameworks that we would maintain by backporting bug-fixes already on master to, and making releases from those branches as needed?

not sure if this is clear:  you'll fix the bugs in the master branches and backport those fixes to the current release branch and to the LTS branch?
and you won't add new features as this is only about fixing bugs?

That's correct. This effort is about backporting public bug fixes already on master, not doing private feature development.

Plasma and Gear already have stable branches that can be used for this; the discussion here is really mostly about creating such a thing for a specific Frameworks release so the same thing can be done for it.
