Subject: OLD: Request for help with Icelandic localization for DocBook

Greetings from Tokyo, Japan.

I'm with the DocBook Project[1] and would like to ask if you might
be able to help with doing some translation to create a Icelandic
locale file for use in producing generated text in DocBook[2] output.

I have attached a copy of our master locale file (en.xml) to show
you what we need translated. Creating an Icelandic locale file from
that would mostly involve

  - translating the values of all the "text" attributes on the
    "gentext" elements.

  - translating the month and weekday names in the "datetime-full"
and "datetime-abbrev" parts towards the end of the file

To see some examples for other languages, take a look here:

  http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/docbook/gentext/locale/

Once we have the Icelandic locale file in the DocBook distribution,
users will be able to use produce DocBook output that includes
generated text in Icelandic (e.g., Icelandic man pages).

If you have time and interest in helping with this, please let me
know.

Regards,

"DocBook enables you to author and store document content in a
presentation-neutral form that captures the logical structure
of the content. Using free tools along with the
DocBook Stylesheets from the DocBookProject and related
resources, you can transform, format, and publish your content
as HTML pages and PDF files, and in many other
DocBookOutputFormats, including Microsoft HTMLHelp, UNIX man
pages, JavaHelp, TeX, TeXinfo, and RTF. (Free tools are also
available to do "up conversion" of other formats such as man
pages, HTML, Javadoc, plain text, Texinfo, and OpenOffice
    Writer documents to DocBook."
