I don't think this would work. The repository model is a consequence of the chosen workflow. And the workflow is a consequence of the social interactions. Like Michael said, the Linux kernel uses a military-style social interaction, where patches go up the chain of command all the way to Linus Torvalds. It's a way of guaranteeing the trustworthiness of each patch by limiting the number of people you have trust. I don't think that would apply to KDE. We have a completely different social model. Actually, to tell you the truth, the kernel model would be offensive to KDE developers.
