I used kdenlive from svn commit 5963 for a few hours and did not have
any crashes with that. When project was loaded and new thumbnails
were created, I was able to preview timeline at the same time
without a crash, though time line playback once got stuck and played
for a few minutes while rest of kdenlive was unresponsive (while
thumbnails were created in the background). I will take rest of the new
patches to use now.

In addition to this crash, I have only two other problems with kdenlive/mlt
right now: duration mismatch bug hits almost all new clips that have been added
to timeline (http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=2327) and I noticed
that after rendering some clips are played too fast (2x or 3x, on preview
they are ok). Both of these I'm able to work around.
