Although this bug is over six years old, now is the time to address plugins (or
extensions) in Kmail. The popular email client Thunderbird offers plugins and I
find them to be an excellent way to add the features one needs without causing
a lot of bloat. Email is as critical to everyday communications as the
telephone today, and the Kmail devs cannot be expected to anticipate, and code
for, each user's individual needs.
