In fact there are two approaches for it: * Akonadi imap implementation, that hopefully will solve all of the imap problems. * fixing the kio_imap (until the akonadi implementation will be ready). I'm using IMAP/ssl. Usually before suspend I put kmail (1.12.0) into offline mode. But connections are obviously not always closed, as sometimes after resume (and changing kmail back to online) I get the problem that mail checking in inbox never completes, often not. But I sure get this problem, if I change from (Open)VPN to WLAN/LAN or back.
