--- Comment #171 from Tin Blaskovic <tin blaskovic gmail com> 2010-09-06 15:13:59 --- I wish I was be able to formulate more specific requirements, it would certainly be the fairest towards Tim or any other developer that takes up the challenge. Since my primary interest in supporting this effort would be to see the functionality getting included in future KDE4+ releases, I suppose the only ones that are qualified enough to pass judgment on that are core kmail developers who know the direction that kmail is headed, and whatever they conclude I would agree on. Therefore (and please keep in mind this only affects my pledge, others decide for themselves but I believe that these suggestions are to the benefit of everyone), I can propose only the following criteria for the specification (as specific as I can make them): 1. the component must be able to fully preserve original/quoted message formatting and content on output 2. the component should allow for basic text input and formatting (i.e. font, size, color, decoration) and image insertion, both in quoted text and in reply text 3. the component should be accepted into current kmail source tree and made available through official kdepim releases A question for Tim - are you planning on using webkit editor (already mentioned several times in this discussion) or do you plan to write your own? IMHO, it should be easier to use an already existing component. Also, doxygen comments are always useful, but a short techbase page would also be very welcome for others who decide to continue the work on the component. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Kdepim-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
