No, this would be adding a new method to the "Mailer" and "Reader" interfaces as well, then appropriate methods to the (as far as I know, one and only) implementation.
In that case, if there is only one implementation and that's updated
when the interfaces are changes, I guess things will stay sync'd up.
It's when there are several implementations that those interface
changes will bite ya. But you guys know that as well as I do so I'm
preaching to the choir as it were.
I'd say if you need the changes Mike, go for it. You're obviously
the most qualified to make them... <G>
