*Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) * reported a sharp drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 15.73% to Rs 5,468.30 million from Rs 6,489.30 million in the same quarter previous year.
