Check the messages from November -- Tom Shaw pointed this out too, and I tracked down the problem. There's also an entry in the bug database now, including a pointer to the fix(es) checked in. http://krbdev.mit.edu/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=6579 With that patch applied, and the configure script regenerated with autoconf, you ought to be able to use 1.7 with Solaris 8, as far as I know.
