In the non-working case the iwlwifi module isn't loaded, which is obviously a problem. Can you provide the output from the following commands when wifi isn't working? Does wifi work after these commands?
$ modprobe --show-depends pci:v00008086d00003165sv00008086sd00004410bc02sc80i00 $ sudo modprobe -v pci:v00008086d00003165sv00008086sd00004410bc02sc80i0 At this point I'm not seeing any obvious differences between the two kernel versions which would account for the regression. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545916 Title: intel wifi [8086:3165] (rev 79) failed to work after updating the system Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in linux-lts-vivid package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: kernel: 3.19.0-23-generic #24~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 8 11:15:13 UTC driver: Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi distribution: Ubuntu Trusty device: 01:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:3165] (rev 79) The original report is from here: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+question/280884 Please refer the link for further details.
