Tested the proposed update for precise with LBM for 3.12 and with the saucy LTS kernel. Works in both cases, except that the saucy LTS kernel supplies its own firmware which overrides the one from linux-firmware. Deleting the blob from the LTS kernel package gets the right copy, and it works as well as the old version did.
I also discovered that I actually do have a 3160 card, and that firmware is working fine for me as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-firmware in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265550 Title: linux-firmware: iwlwifi: add firmware for 7260 / 3160 devices Status in “linux-firmware” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in “linux-lts-saucy” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “linux-firmware” source package in Precise: Fix Committed Status in “linux-lts-saucy” source package in Precise: In Progress Status in “linux-firmware” source package in Trusty: Fix Released Status in “linux-lts-saucy” source package in Trusty: Invalid Bug description: iwlwifi: add firmware for 7260 / 3160 devices Support for linux v3.10+ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1265550/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
