I found some code that looks suspicious. The kernel below has a fix, so
please try it out and let me know if it resolves the issue. The kernel
also contains the extra debugging from the previous build (with a fix
for an off-by-one error), so if the problem does happen again please
give me the logs. Thanks!

  Kernel panic

Bug description:
  I run ubuntu servers 13.04 and 13.10 on the AWS cloud. Whenever I
  install haproxy and nginx on the same server, after hitting it for a
  while, a kernel panic is caused. However, the kernel panic does not
  show up in ubuntu 12.04.  The kernel panic is pasted at the end of the
  attachment.
