OOO - and for crypto -we could just have an 'auto-crypto' devfs that makes any registered disk device available under e.g.
/dev/cdisk/SERNO (e.g. allocate driver structure upon accessing this file) with an ioctl for getting / setting crypto keys.. maybe some devfs configuration to do this - or disable, etc. hmm..
