Nick, you (may be) are correct. I have that idea too.
But what I mean is that right now and special with complex boards it will take 
too much time to rendering everything again (re calculating the board 
polygons.. re-render all model positions... etc). So it is not "real time" (for 
me).

Kicad is (or has) been able to do this IIRC. At least I have been able
to see the track after I finished it. I have used that before, such
that I don't need to reopen the 3D viewer. I have not tested this
recently.
