I downloaded your latest .dmg, opened it, two kicad folders showed up, I
picked one, opened kicad from it and it crashed. Unfortunately, the
damned thing does not allow me to copy&paste the message from the
problem(atic) report dialog.
There is a clever Mac application/utility called Grab. You can use this
to do a screen capture on your error dialog.
Also, running from the dmg... -- I think dmg is a read-only container.
If KiCad needs to write something, that could cause the crash. A better
test would be to actually do the install to your hard disk and then try
to run it.
But, as Adam Wolf notes - 10.6.8 is pretty old.
