Can I draw your attention to this post on the forum: https://forum.kicad.info/t/github-footprints-problem/1935/4 I have been having this problem over a week now on the Stable 4.0.1 build, I can get around it be using Cvpcb to assign footprints. But it prevents footprint assignment from eeschema. Let me know if I can give further assistance debugging. Dan
