+1 for TreeView (+ Tabs only if necessary). But before that: PLEASE use the available screen real-estate as much as possible! Clicking through a small tabs or dialogs makes it difficult to find preferences is IMO wasting time. Imagine that dual-screen desktops (usually >1920x1080px) are standard in CAD/CAE workstations with the trend to add a third screen which can be stuffed up with the setup dialogs. What is the minimum resolution KiCad's dialogs are supposed to fit into?
