FWIW I've used an old HP4000 laser printer to make one-off pcbs for some
years. The accuracy and paper handling have been good enough for me to make
one-off prototype boards such as microwave microstripline filters, couplers
and amplifiers with excellent results using the 'toner as resist' method.
