Voting tendencies pretty soon stabalised on this poll, so I decided to call it in.
Very interesting results. KiCAD is developed on Posix like platforms using OSS toolchains, and yet just over 50% of users actually use it on windows. This is testimony to the quality of KiCAD, as OSS EDA tools devolped specificaly for windows only are available. The result also clearly demonstrates that it is not being used just because it runs on Linux. It also shows that most non windows users are using KiCAD on 32 bit Linux platforms, but people **are** using it on other posix like variants such as OSX. I think KiCAD can consider itself a true multi-platform software package and not just software that **may** be run on another platform if you really insist. There is no logical follow up to this poll, but perhaps I will run it again in a couple of years to see how (or if) things have changed ;-) Cheers, Roger.
