Hi Guys Andy and Noel. I can understand exactly why you guys would prefer to work with a dark background.I myself came to this conclusion when I was playing around with some other software. Indeed it is more relaxing on the eyes.
However, when it comes to some new users using pcbnew such as myself, it is very very difficult for us to see clearly whats going on. There is just insufficient contrast. Perhaps on some monitors, it is very clear to you guys when you see the rats nest and pads etc. But on the computer monitor which I use, it is actually very hard to see all the various elements. For want of a better term, I feel visually impaired. I think it would be great if an option could be included to have a much lighter backgound. This would be of great benefit to beginners who will be able to see "whats going on" far more clearly, and also be of benefit to those who use older CRT monitors which might no longer have sufficient brilliance to make shown clearly what needs to be seen.
