The R and C symbols are the ones that come with KiCAD "out of the box". The symbol has a "~" in the name field. The modules have numbers, but this usually works OK. In fact I just tested it, and a brand new project with the same symbols and modules creates the netlist you'd expect - no A or B pin names. Maybe this has something to do with my use of the clipboard to move a set of resistors from one older schematic to a new one...???
