I've just tried wiping out the lib cache, which had A and B listed as 
the pin numbers. I also tried going back to devices.lib and updating 
the schematic with the symbols from there. But each time I generate a 
new net list the A and B come up as pin names - and PCBnew doesn't know 
what to do with them.

Argh!
