Yes nobody means to not show appreciation for the ingenuity that has
undoubtedly gathered to create any program of such complexity as KiCad!
But standards are not only fun, they are essential for a programs survival!
Or lets say it in more commercial terms: Market Share!
And even if KiCad will always be open source there is commercial potential
for its creators too, right?
To point you to a GPL program that has a GUI implementation that is a
remarkably flawless, look at Inkscape!
