If I make a component named aaa in the library editor (and save it in a library), then want to make component bbb which is very similar to aaa but not identical - can I duplicate aaa and save it as bbb and then do the change?
I found an odd error in the 74xx library - I placed 74LS393 on my schema and discovered that the pinout wasn't right. Actually it was the pinout for 74LS390. So I opened the library editor and the 74LS393 component and corrected the pins. But when I shoud save it, it was named 74LS390. I didn't find any way to rename or save the part in another name. Then I saved it as 74LS390 anyway, with the alias 74HC393 added. But when I should add the 74HC393 to the schema eeschema crashed. After restart I couldn't find any of the parts 74LS390,74LS393 or 74HC393 in the library. It's just gone!
