It is quite simple. Just do to library editor. select the working library and select component similar to your required component. change the name of the component and save it. it will be saved by new name. Then edit the new component to correct it.

To: [email protected] Date: Tuesday, 11 August, 2009, 5:33 PM If I make a component named aaa in the library editor (and save it in a library), then want to make component bbb which is very similar to aaa but not identical - can I duplicate aaa and save it as bbb and then do the change? I found an odd error in the 74xx library - I placed 74LS393 on my schema and discovered that the pinout wasn't right. Actually it was the pinout for 74LS390. So I opened the library editor and the 74LS393 component and corrected the pins. But when I shoud save it, it was named 74LS390. I didn't find any way to rename or save the part in another name. Then I saved it as 74LS390 anyway, with the alias 74HC393 added. But when I should add the 74HC393 to the schema eeschema crashed. After restart I couldn't find any of the parts 74LS390,74LS393 or 74HC393 in the library. It's just gone! Looking for local information? Find it on Yahoo! Local http://in.local.yahoo.com/
