Looking at Synaptic package manager on my machine, I see that the docs have to be installed separately. In the case of US users, the synaptic selection is kicad-doc-en. That said, I strongly urge you to delete KiCad repository install, download the current version binaries from sourceforce and install it. Not only is it the current version but everything installs nicely under /usr/local/kicad if you follow the installation instructions. rant mode Ubuntu is screwing the pooch not keeping packages current in long term releases such as the Hardy Heron that I'm running. This isn't the only package that they've allowed to languish. Firefox is still at 3.0. I know, their solution is to upgrade OSs. If I had the time to spend a week upgrading the OS and getting everything back to normal, I can think of a lot of OTHER things I'd rather spend the week on. /rant mode John -- John DeArmond Tellico Plains, Occupied TN http://www.neon-john.com <-- email from here http://www.johndearmond.com <-- Best damned Blog on the net PGP key: wwwkeys.pgp.net: BCB68D77
