Please check the sources to see if they have documented what specific version 
of libstdc++6 they need. If you look carefully in the debian packages website 
there is a 6.4.2 and 6.4.3 version for Lenny. There is also a lenny backport 
(newer version). If all of these fail, you could try backporting 6.4.4 from 
testing. I could help you do this. But first, check the sources or ask the 
author what version he expects.

It appears Ubuntu 9.10 (karmic) has available version 6.4.4 of the *-dev 
package. So perhaps the backport will solve the problem in Debian Lenny.
