The training would have been great. But for those who can not afford the (hefty?) Php 10,000 fee, that I think is beyond most people's pockets. Plus added to that the lodging, food, fare expense aside from the training fee -- all just to learn Linux and open source training in just two weeks. I sure hope it would be effective.
Going open source specially in education is more than just equipping the trainors the skills. OpenSource is a lifestyle and to effectively teach and disseminate it, you have to live by it. You can compare open source advocacy to something like marketing for a specific product.
