I use Mark Minasi's The Complete PC Upgrade and Maintenance Guide. I consider Mark Minasi to be one, if not the best author/resource person on computer repair, upgrade, and maintenance. Any of his books will suffice. He writes on a lot of topics. http://www.minasi.com/books For anything Linux, I go for any material published by Carla Schroder. I think you can get an ebook version of Mark Minasi's books somewhere. Forgot the link because I have the actual book.
