That means your monitor is not capable of handling the maximum resolution
that your video card can support. SuSE by default will set your video
resolution to the most optimum resolution that your card supports.

You can let it continue to boot, regardless of the display being black. In
order for you to modify the graphic settings, you will need to use Sax2. You
can use the TTY consoles which you can access by pressing CTRL ALT then
either from F1 to F6 whichever you choose (ie. CTRL ALT F4 ) You will then
be given a command line interface with login prompt. Enter your root account
credentials then fire up Sax2 like so:

# Sax2 -r

When Sax2 will start, you can then modify the settings for your display
including video card settings and monitor resolution. Go ahead and change
the resolution to either 1024 x 768 at 60Hz. Reboot and enjoy your SuSE.

Do tell us how it goes. Regards!
