Which ebook do you need? A "very basic, down-to-the-last-grain-of-sand"
simple ebook? or the "extremely-complex-for-pro-only" ebook?

On Web 2.0 :

Most of the replies mentioned the "tools", "platforms", and technologies
that pertains to being Web2.0-aware. The question really is

"What is the essence of Web2.0 ?"

My answer:

Web 2.0 is not about how you design your site, nor the tools and frameworks
used to have an "uber-cool" portal. Web2.0 is all about (take note of these
kids) SERVICE, INTERACTION and COLLABORATION.

Service
Due to the very nature of the new tools (AJAX, PHP, RAILS, SOAP, etc...) we
can now provide services over the web which normally in pre-2000 era would
require us to use Client-Server applications. Huge and cheap internet
bandwidth also contributed to the boom of over-the-web services much of
these we now take for granted like photo-sharing, media streaming, remote
application hosting, and so on.

Interaction and Collaboration
With the new tools used, developers churn out extremely dynamic and usable
tools that are at-par, if not surpass, traditional client-server based tools
and applications. With the latest web-based services, we interact more,
communicate and collaborate more, get more creative, and more aware of
virtually anything we see and do. Prime examples are YouTube, Friendster,
Gmail, All New Yahoo, Digg, Photobucket, Shareaza, and other services. These
are relatively taken for granted by a lot of people, however, the atmosphere
that these tools work in contribute to the overall feel of Web2.0.

Again, Web2.0 is not about putting Flash on your site, glitzy graphics,
grand scripts and frameworks. Unless interaction, collaboration, and service
is not present in your portal/site/what-have-you, I'd hardly call it
Web2.0-compliant.
