Bai, you may take a look also at IPTraf. It's not SNMP-based. It uses
NCurses (reminds me of Norton Commander), plus monitors traffic in
real-time. You can specify to monitor traffic on specific interfaces or on
all interfaces. It has an "aggregated stat" mode where you'll see the
average traffic on your interfaces. Plus this is proudly Pinoy-made courtesy
of Gerard Paul Java (of Mozcom i think?).

Yeah, the package seems quite dated. Last update is September 2005. However
still works wonders. I deployed it in on one telco (competitor to your
former company). So far, it fits their needs.
