Hi Marion,

I am happy that you have come back to the dark side mwahaha. >:D But
realistically, you usually use your head the hardest when your heart is in
it. So that was a good first step for you.

As for your lack of a personal computer, I've had classmates who are way
better than me as programmers who had the same problem as ypu. Though I
cannot speak of how much of an obstacle it would be now, 10years after I
first took up Computer Science, to not own a computer when you are taking up
a computer science course. I would suspect it would make a world of a
difference if you had direct access one. I believe in the age-old adage that
practice makes perfect :) But I do believe that there are many creative ways
for you to be able to have access to one. Right Earl? :D (Paging Ron Michael
to and the rest of the XU Lab C Ninjas...wehehe...)

And if you would allow me one more piece of advise -- now that you've
decided to devote yourself to computer science, I suggest that you really
REALLY focus on getting good grades in your CS Majors :) I won't lie to you
-- skill matters (and PAYS) a lot in the IT industry. But skill is
developed, largely based on the fundamentals and principles taught in your
CS subjects. Getting good grades usually translates to how serious you were
in your education. And whenever I interviewed fresh graduates, I always
looked at their transcripts. Of course, I'd obviously be more interested in
an A rather than a B, don't you think? :)

So there, I hope there is enough fodder for you to consume. Good luck!

Don
